Fête de la Musique

Fête de la Musique

This coming Saturday, AUCP Summer students will be dancing in the streets of Aix-en-Provence, celebrating the Fête de la Musique. Launched by France’s charismatic Minister of Culture, Jack Lang, in 1982, the Fête de la Musique takes place all throughout France and Europe every 21st of June, day of the summer solstice. Aix will be hopping with hundreds of musicians giving free performances in the streets, bars and cafés. Jazz, Reggae, Rock, Hip-hop, Electronic, Tango, and Classical music will be vying for attention in joyful cacophony. This light-hearted celebration is a great opportunity for students to socialize and to get to know their new city better (see map below for what’s playing where).
