Fête de la Musique 2015


This past Sunday, AUCP summer students danced in the streets of Aix-en-Provence, celebrating the Fête de la Musique. Launched by France’s charismatic Minister of Culture, Jack Lang, in 1982, the Fête de la Musique takes place all throughout France and Europe every 21st of June, day of the summer solstice with 15 and a half hours of sunlight!

Aix was hopping with thousands of spectators and hundreds of musicians giving free performances in the streets, bars and cafés. Jazz, Reggae, Rock, Hip-hop, Electronic, Tango, and Classical music shared the city in joyful cacophony. This light-hearted celebration is a great opportunity for students to socialize and to get to know their new city better (see map below for what played where).
